Tuchman Residence

The design challenge for this gut renovation of an uptown Manhattan apartment for two devoted art collectors was to revitalize their living space and integrate it with their extensive art collection. Custom millwork storage complement the clients Art Deco furniture pieces and custom area rugs soften the basalt stone floors in the living area. Plum colored glass accent walls arranged in a monochrome Mondrian motif are meant to reference the client and architect’s mutual love of the Bauhaus movement. An inset wool rug, custom designed bed and graciously appointed en suite makes the master bedroom a respite for the owners.
